About me
Bonnie Miksch
is a composer and improvisor whose music explores the distinctly human
realms of emotions, dreams, and states of consciousness, and combines
diverse elements with an ear for coherence. Her chamber music and
electroacoustic compositions have been performed in Asia, Europe,
Canada, and throughout the U.S., and can be found on FearNoMusic and
North Pacific labels. As a human committed to personal growth, she
believes that love is the unequivocal answer and that a focus on
pleasure is the antidote to the challenges in our world. Recent
activities include a premiere of a new work for cello and piano that
explores grief in its many aspects and performing with Portland's
Yelling Choir. She serves as Associate
Director of the School of Music and Program Coordinator of Composition
at Portland State University, where she has taught music theory,
composition, and computer music since 2004.
