About me
Xuan Zhao (they/she/he) is a multidisciplinary performer and storyteller based in NYC, exploring how we take up space through voice, body, and memory. Their work spans musical improv, sketch comedy, solo storytelling, and movement, with performances at The Magnet Theater, The Second City (New York), iO Theater (Chicago) and more.Drawing on experiences across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the U.S., Xuan creates heartfelt, playful, human-centered work, often in bilingual and culturally specific ensembles. Holding an MA from NYU, they bridge performance and facilitation, using spontaneity as both artistic practice and cross-cultural connection.
