About me
Bright's improv journey began in Chicago in 2008, leading him through advanced training at ComedySportz San Jose and into the classroom as a teaching assistant for Professor Patricia Madson’s popular improv course at Stanford University.
He is the author of the landmark book Ji Xing Xi Ju (Improvisational Theatre, May 2020), the first-ever book on the craft originally written in Chinese. Dedicated to advancing the field globally, Bright served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Applied Improvisation Magazine for the Applied Improvisation Network (AIN) from 2023 to 2024. Since 2023, he has also been the producer and editor for Improv Interviews with Margot Escott, a popular podcast running since 2016.
